Real people.

It's all good when you believe the universe is good to you??

My belief in New Yorkers is renewed one block away from where I got the shit kick out of me for beating on some guys window for almost running me over in a cross walk, he snuck around real soft like, jumped out of his rig and pummeled me a top the noggin, knot as big as a grapefruit, an NYC first, and a rare occurrence I might add. I digress....yet, down in the subway I've let my money at home on two occassions in the same week and low and behold I get swipes from two good samaritans....one i didn't even ask for, he swiped his card for me while I wasn't lookin'... What's that?? I walked into Dunkin Donuts the other day for a large iced coffee and a egg and cheese croissant. Was like $7 and something, first I was like, you've got to be kidding me, but when my debit card was swiped, it was declined, for no good reason, and it wouldn't go through. The lady behind me paid for my bill. Can you believe that? How many of you out that would have done the same thing for somebody else. That's real people.

As I was so candidly asked last night, "If there was one bit o' wisdom you would impart to the world, what would it be?" "YOU DO YOU." The purest moments in life occur in the action of being yourself. It's the highest form of self awareness in a way. Like an athlete, musician, or surgeon for that matter, who studies the fuck out their craft, when it's time to put that craft on the line you must release the techniques and jump into the possession of the muse and TRUST. Our craft: KNOW THYSELF. When it's on the line: YOU DO YOU, no apologies, no excuses, no i'm sorriy. Why change for others? You in your purest form at this moment is what we all want to see. That's rock n roll.

Look me in the eyes and tell me what you see.

Last Friday I slammed it out with probably the 3 kewlest musicians I have ever played with, Vin Sgro, Joe Medici, and Pal Armento in a KISS Tribute night in full regalia at Fontana's in NYC. Besides the adrenal of being donned up hotter than fuck in KISS attire, what I was struck by was that there are musicians out there who look each other in the eye and listen to each other on stage, this is the first time I ever felt the true band collective on stage. Granted I had two reahearsals with them and we had a 15 song set, so it was a necessity, but the life flow was stellar, and connective, I never knew how amazing this feeling could be in a band situation. I've been used to musicians living in their own world on stage, trying to force interaction and when it didn't happen I just turned my experience into a one person show with a backup band. Hubris went out the door and it was nirvana. My admonition to everyone is look at each other in the eyes....live like your life depends on what others have to ffer you and what you have to offer them back, for the beauty of the moment. In this moment all barriers come down and we see each other as the spirits which we are, not as a collection of beliefs, lifestyles, demographics. We the people can rise up and breed the love energy that will usher in the new age. We are in it now, do you feel it??

brainwash

the RNC is full of brainwashing ads and emotionally charged sermons appealing to those who don't know how to question. please don't try to exploit the dead in 9/11 and play to the emotions of families who lost loved ones by showing gruesome images of an incident we are trying to move on from, especially since the incident in discussion was orchestrated by the predecessors of McCain and his party.

second of all, I was watching Mexican television the other day and the American television has failed to cover the protests that are outside of the convention itself. yes McCain, people do oppose you. I'm guessing BBC covered these protests as well. Isn't the media supposed to offer unbiased coverage and report the truth? Jesus, big brother exists people. when are we going to fight back?

FAMILY

i have to say how arrogant politicians can be when they seek to represent the diverse population of the united states and it's entire demographic and yet choose to define "family" as a man/wife and children. can someone please tell me? can someone please tell me how honest and unbiased a person can be if elected to have the best interests of the entire country at mind when they proceed to make decisions based upon personal belief systems and antiquated ethics of a certain segment of the population? Speaking of, my mother's church of 34 years just shut down because like the Shakers their principles did not change with an evolving complex society. They were unable to "recruit" new members to their, as we would call it in sociological terms, group, because their principles and the physical manifestations of their principles did not evolve with an ever changing society. They failed to be applicable and tangible to a modern society. The group constituants grew old and died, thus ending both organizations. Screw an historic election with a woman and a black man running. McCain is trying to set himself up a competition versus proving he can be monumental. His VP choice makes me laugh and he's created an aura of buffoonary to mock the fact that in this election year there will be a guaranteed first. (excuse my french, but how much do we really care who has a pussy and who has a different skin color? Don't we care about personhood and equality?) He didn't choose with discernment someone who would represent a country. She represents a value system that will continue to discriminate against equal rights for all people who's definition of family is evolving in a complex society. Who really has the best interests of a diverse population in mind?
